Manchester United have started the campaign with a victory. A good step in the march to a fourth straight league title. Rooney provided the breakthrough in the 34th minute, opening his account, one that is hopefully full of deposit, or withdrawals, or whatever means he scores a lot. I apologize, but I just love that saying.
The game left me with more questions than answers, and the make-shift back four (minus Evra, who was spectacular again) did a solid job against a depleted Birmingham side, but may have been picked apart by the likes of the top four. It looks like fundamentals are the key, and a 4-4-2 may be something we just have to get used to.
United may not be as flashy this year, but they proved last year that if you take 58 of 60 points from the bottom half of the table, the league is in striking distance. 3 out of 3 so far.
