Crystal Palace 0 Newcastle United 2

22 08 2009

Crystal Palace never recovered from letting in an early goal as they lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle United. Kevin Nolan’s strike after just 99 seconds put them behind and Ryan Taylor’s brilliant curler doubled the lead on 21 minutes. Alan Lee missed a free header in the first half as did Alassane N’Diaye and Sean Scannell after the break as the Eagles lack of firepower and inability to finish was again exposed.

Nice to see {or read for my eyes are still burning from following the match online} Nicky Butt make his return in the second half. Butt was used for the first time this season – the 34-year-old midfielder newly recovered from a thumb injury.

Proud of you boys! Another 3 points in light of a potentially huge Monday were reports that owner Mike Ashley will be addressing the media on what the ownership plans are for Newcastle United: sell to Mr. Barry Moat who will bring Alan Shearer back as manager and we go back up into the Premier League or take the club off the market and see if he can get the Magpies into League 1 next year.

Great job keeping your focus guys! Keep it up! We don’t belong in this league!! GO NUFC!!!

I can smell the fried cheese on those Jerseys. I love it.

I think those jerseys are holding up the sale of the club. Would you buy a club from an ownership team that made that decision?

I think those shirts are the final insult from Mr Mike Ashley, and I despair everytime I see a “mug” who has bought one and actually dares wear it to the ground after probably being ridiculed by friends and family.
