I’ve got good news, and bad news.

First the bad news:

This morning Sir Alex has hinted that a rotation of the United squad will probably be in order.  What this means is that Hull City will probably face a United team consisting of players who will not make the journey to Rome for the Champions League final.  In all practicality this means that Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov, Van der Sar, Vidic, Ferdinand, Carrick, Evra, Park, and so on will be wearing there Sunday’s best this Sunday at Hull City, resting for the match on Wednesday.  You can’t blame them.

Here is the good news for the Toon Army:

Sir Alex went on to say, “This is the best squad I have ever had.  I could have picked two teams and I will be picking a team next Sunday which will reflect that. I have a fantastic squad of about 28 or 29 players to choose from”. The good news is this.  The squad chosen on Sunday may be young and inexperienced, but they are hungry to showcase themselves with some first team action.  They will come out and play hard knowing that the entire league will be watching.  They will show what they have, and it will be exciting.  I think this team, and these players will put on a better show than if you were to include the names above.  Those players would be thinking about Rome the entire match, and would not be playing to their full potential for fear of injury or fatigue that would keep them out of the match on Wednesday.  These young guns are egaer to impress, and I think they will do just that.
